[movies]Super Mario World - Xbox emulated run in 0:10:47 - Andrew McKinlay - Andrew McKinlay
Speed run of Super Mario World done on xsnes9x Super Nintendo emulator for Xbox, does not count as official record for SMW. Author's comments: This run was extremely lucky in two areas, 1. That i didn't die by that stupid stump thing in the first castle. 2. That i didn't choke on that lame water level like i always do. I'm never going to play this game ever again, as I officially became a complete loser this summer having played this game waaaaaay too much...

This roughly 17-minute run through the NES's Metroid demonstrates the fastest path through the game. Please note: These speedthroughs were played on an emulator, using game slow-down options a...

Speed Run of Playstation 2's "God of War" By: Prism Completed October 1, 2005 17 segments You'll see me do two things many, many times throughout the run: roll-cancel and saw. Roll-canceling is when you roll, then do an action (like hit square), but then roll again before it gets started. Doing this lets Kratos travel across the ground much faster than walking. A varation of this is roll->R2 (dash)->(repeat); this has the added benefit of letting you steer Kratos during the dash move...

For more details, see http://tasvideos.org/201M.html This movie completes the PAL Rygar with only one item: the grappling hook. And what an awesome movie it is: it demonstrates as many glitches of the game as possible. Some of the glitches save time radically, some save a little of time, and some don't save time at all but just look cool. It uses death as a shortcut, but in contrary to the usual, this death does not put Rygar backwards in the game, but instead warps him forward by a couple of le...

[movies]Aladdin - 16:54 (US version, emulated run) - Drew Sears (aka. milquetoast).
This is the authors second version of the run which is 14 seconds faster than the first. The majority of improvements come from the log stage and the fight against Jafar. The author also managed to find extra places to avoid swinging and boucning, and took some damage to save time. The run (ab)uses the "parachute trick" to move faster.

[movies]Rygar (NES) - 21:07 (Europe version, emulated run) - Hans Olsson (aka. Walker Boh)
This timeattack is different from the other Rygar timeattack in that it plays all levels and doesn't use the boss-warp glitch. Unlike the previous versions of the full (ie. deathless) run, this one makes full use of all the bugs and glitches in the game which can be used to speed up the run. Note: Famtasia plays PAL games at NTSC speed, that is 16.7% too fast. Thus the AVI is significantly faster than the movie should actually be.

After all, he's the hero, and heroes are supposed to be invincible. This is an awesome Jecy's 46-second improvement to the previous Batman timeattack. Here is my second attempt at a timeattack for Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse. This version is over three minutes faster than its predecessor, partly due to tighter routes and gameplay, but mostly due to the fact that you can skip all dialogue (which Kyrsimys reminded me of). The game is a basic YB platformer where Mickey searches for his dog Pluto using an array of special suits. This game has the most pessimistic guide character in any game I have ever played...

Actually, it's more like a little-known Japanese wire-action platformer (like Bionic Commando or Ninja Five-O) with a small but rabid fan following.
